I was about to purchase Finale 2011 Academic until I read the reviews. I was very concerned about the comments that Finale 2011 Academic could not be registered with MakeMusic!(Finale Music) and also that educational or academic (price discounted)software are prohibited from being to be sold per Amazon’s Policy. But I wanted to be extra sure that there would be no problems with the software.
So I called MakeMusic! and talked with customer representative, Sean, and he confirm that they have been instructed by management to caution customers from purchasing from Amazon.com. He said that MakeMusic’s legal group is getting involved in this matter and that Amazon’s own policy prohibits the sale of academic software since academic eligibility is not verified by the sellers and academic documentation from the person purchasing the software is not obtained.
