How do you highlight objects in Acrobat Adobe 9.0 Pro?

I know that Adobe Pro has a function that attempts to grab text out of a scanned document and allows you to then highlight text it picks up. I have scanned some drawings(blueprints) into the program and would like to highlight certain objects. Basically I’d like to be able to do exactly what I would do on paper with a highlighter, on the computer with this software. Possible?
