Your keyboard shows straight quotes, but they don't show in your document. Microsoft Office changes curly quotes in your Word 2007 documents into curly quotes or smart quotes. Smart quotes are the nightmare of online writers. Editors want you to use straight quotes, because the curly ones makes the text incomprehensible. You will also need straight quotes when you paste a Word text into a plain text email. Every time you use an apostrophe or quotation marks, they turn into strange combinations. Your text will look like this:
