VidCoder has been updated to version 0.7.0, which now supports ripping Blu-ray discs and comes with in-built previewer. With simple and stream lined user interface, Vidcoder is a DVD ripper for Windows that uses Handbrake as its encoding engine. Vidcoder directly calls the HandBrake library thus giving a richer UI than the official HandBrake Windows GUI.
Built on .NET 4.0 Client Profile/WPF in C#, Vidcoder runs on any platform that supports .NET 4.0 – Windows 7, Vista, XP, Server 2003 and Server 2008. Supporting encoding presets, VidCoder now also adds in support for Blu-Ray discs in its latest version, however this version does not defeat AACS or BD+ Blu-ray encryption and the subtitles are not yet included. The automatic preview image creation offered by VidCoder lets you choose to create from 10 to 30 images available in the options menu. Response rate of the built-in previewer is quite impressive whilst displaying high-definition content, thanks to additional memory and disk caching capabilities of VidCoder.
