PDF has become almost ubiquitous document format on the web. Adobe reader helps in reading this document but it does not do a good job for getting text information out of these documents. The copy/paste function is hit or miss and some times one needs the entire document in an editable format. Originally Adobe did not provide any method of doing it except now it can be done with the help of Above Acrobat Pro version that is not free. However, this conversion of the document format can easily be done using one of the available online services.
I tried one at PDF2Word Online : Convert PDF to Word for Free The service was prompt but could not convert the entire document that contains text only with few tables. It converted about 59 pages of 130 page long document and then stopped. It does not e-mail the document and one has to go back to the web site to download the converted document.
There is another option on the web http://www.pdftoword.com/ It takes a while to do the conversion for the long document, however, it works and converts the entire documents and maintains the accuracy and fidelity of the original PDF document.
