MS Office (any version) is certainly not free.
If you’re a student, check with the students rep, or students union at school, college or Uni.
If you’re NOT a student, prices can vary very slightly between — Amazon, EBuyer, Dabs or PC World – to mention just some sources.
Open Office or SSuite, are 2 packages you CAN download for free.
Another alternative option is to use the free — Office Web Apps (2010) — online, this has Word, OneNote, Excel & P.P. – but NOT Publisher.
Side note #2: Microsoft also has something called Office 2010 Mobile. This is a full editing/viewing version of Office 2010, but it only works on Windows
