The intention of this forum is not to replace a company's IT department, nor can we anticipate alterations or configurations that may have been made to a business machine, or how it will interact with the tools commonly used in the removal of malware. If you're a small company without an IT department, outside help is often contracted for maintaining a company's machines. My main concern is not that we can't clean the machine, but that due to the nature of it's use, it can't really be trusted in the future. A wipe and new MBR will ensure the security of the customers and company. The symptoms you describe fit the infection I do see, but the empty sections of the logs suggest there may be other things on the machine we can't see, even with the rootkit scan log we have. While this may seem like greater protection, it can cause problems including slowdowns, system hangs or even crashes.
