The while supplies last is supposed to be when something is on clearance or to put a caveat in there for the retailer so they aren't obligated to fill all orders. Software makers abuse this though. The answer is yes they think their customers are stupid and unfortunately they are right most of the time. m00nj0ck, while I agree that it is good deal I also agree with parent post. There is no supply issue, they created it by their own choice, for $149 they could make as many those little paper boxes as they want, they could also sell it as online download if they wanted to. They are selling limited number of licenses with discount, but they call it something else. It is not really a good deal since you aren't taking into account the massive markup placed on these "licenses."
