This weekend's largest new wide release is undoubtedly Unstoppable, the action-thriller from director Tony Scott that stars Denzel Washington and Chris Pine in the headlining roles. With a debut to a large-sized 3,207 locations across the United States and a strong marketing push behind it, the film should end up with a respectable box office gross during its first weekend at the box office. I'd rather see Unstoppable have a strong opening, then benefit from positive word of mouth, much like Red did and continues to have each weekend. It's undeniable that adult audiences are starved for a decent action film. Denzel Washington has some major box office drawing power, Chris Pine is now recognizable after his turn as "Kirk " in 2009's Star Trek and is a positivie condition, and director Tony Scott is a respected as well as a known name which definitely adds to the movie's box office potential.
