News Release Pacific Celebrates 10 Years of the Brubeck Institute: Annual Event Will Feature Institute Alumni and Guest Artists

Famed jazz bassist Christian McBride returns to Pacific in April to celebrate a decade of the Brubeck Institute. McBride, first artistic director of the Institute and a member of its Honorary Board, will be joined by outstanding alumni of the Summer Jazz Colony and Fellowship Program and other guest artists during the four-day event.
Concerts will be held at 7:30 p.m. each night from April 8 - 10 in the Faye Spanos Concert Hall. There also will be a discussion about the Brubeck Collection on April 8 in the Library and a symposium on jazz education on Saturday. On Sunday, April 11, the annual Jazz on the Mile festival will be held on the Miracle Mile. Tickets for the on-campus concerts are available through the Pacific Box Office, and tickets for Jazz on the Mile will be sold at the gate. The symposiums are free and open to the public.
