I tried uninstalling it and then applied the latest version and i got the error message 'Unable to compare versions. Aboring' so i figured the uninstall didn't work. I looked through my program files and the folder that was there was gone so i then went through control panel to uninstall it through there and it was still on the list of programs. So i uninstalled it, restarted and it was still there. You might try disabling the sound device in the BIOS Setup Menu, Save and Exit and reboot. Then make sure the drivers in Device Manager are uninstalled, reboot, and see if you can install the drivers again. Then go back into the BIOS and enable the device and see if it works. Otherwise, unless someone else has a suggestion, I'm back to my other suggestion of installing another sound card.
