Listen, not only did I not drop out whilst a student, it seems to me that if you are feeling insulted then that is your problem. The use of the word “deluded” is a perfectly legitimate description of people who claim they not only talk to an invisible entity but feel guided by it. The people whom I know that have strong faith, never feel insulted by anyone who criticises them and I really do think that you should not take Richard Dawkins’ comments out of context. He never baldly said that. You haven’t actually read it yourself have you?
You asked a question pertaining to all atheists but then proceed to give only one example. Where did you get the idea that Dawkin’s speaks for all atheists? I’ve never used words like ’stupid’, ”insane’, ‘deluded’ when referring to Christians. I have referred to some as ignorant because they attempt to discredit something like evolution without knowing anything about it. I also point out when a Christian has a whiny ‘woe is me’ attitude and a persecution complex, like now.
