In my blog post, ‘ Using Legacy Printers in Windows 7 x64’ , I unveiled this possibility with the use of Windows Virtual PC (virtual Windows XP). Windows 7 Professional and Windows 7 Ultimate/Enterprise users are licensed to run a copy of Windows 7 in Windows Virtual PC in Windows 7. The deep integration between virtual Windows XP and the host Windows 7 may mean a viable solution for compatibility issues of both hardware and software.
At the time I wrote ‘ Using Legacy Printers in Windows 7 x64’ , I had tested Panasonic KX-P1121. Another printer, Ricoh Aficio 200, was not tested yet. At the time I wrote this blog post, I have tested Ricoh Aficio 200. I’ve encountered some weird issues and discovered some workarounds.
