I am suspecting that your AMD A64x2 4400+ Toledo at 2.2GHz is going to be a major bottleneck when you upgrade from 9800GT to anything higher (a Fermi like GTS 450 or 9800GT SLI), even at your 1920x1080/1200. If you have to have an upgrade, I suggest you go with the cheapest route, perhaps meaning another (used) 9800GT that you can pick up real cheap. After that, you will have to upgrade almost your entire system.
