The likes of Android and Apple will be nervously looking over their shoulder at the emergence of a new rival in the smartphone world, the Windows 7 operating system.
And one of the most impressive of this new batch of models is the excellent HTC HD7. A good smartphone must boast the perfect balance of hardware alongside the inevitable array of software on offer. HTC are known for their high specification phones, and the HD 7 certainly scores highly in this area. In order to keep the handset running at a fair speed, a good quality processor is required. A 1Ghz Snapdragon processor is present on this model, and this means superb loading times for applications and effortless web browsing. The phone incorporates a large storage capacity of 16GB which is perfect for storing a multitude of files, including audio and video footage. Unfortunately, with there being no micro SD card slot present, this memory in non expandable. The HD7 also sports 576MB of RAM and 512MB of ROM. Taking a glance at the design of the phone, it looks modern and sleek, with its 11mm depth almost matching some of the slimmest phone available. Do not be misled however, this phone is far from small, and this is due to the fact that some extra mm are required to house the huge 4.3″ screen, This is undoubtedly the talking point on this model, offering a great 480 x 800 resolution and also supporting multi touch technology, enabling the use of the favoured pinch and zoom method, perfect for focusing on small text on web pages.
