ActiveSync for XP and earlier. WMDC for Vista and 7. WMDC started up on its own the first time I connected a device. I have read posts that say it will install automatically if it is not installed the first time you connect a device. And I have also read that if you have problems getting it started, you should try uninstalling WMDC and then connecting the device to trigger a fresh install. Are you having trouble connecting? Or "just" synchronizing? Windows 7 32 bit or 64 bit? What version of Outlook? Microsoft has discontinued support for newsgroups.
