Each person would like to protect his documents. And it’s normal as each person do not like other people to view his documents or to copy them. So what are the security features of documents that are offered by the application Microsoft Word Office 2003?
There are three types of password protection:
1) Password for opening. In this case, to open the document a password will be required. Creating a password for opening a document you forbid access to this document by any person to whom the password is not known.
You can set a password for opening a new document (Save As> Tools> Security Options) and for the existing (Main Menu> Tools> Options> Security).
2) Password change is required to maintain the recent amendments of the document. Password for changes allows each user to view and edit the document (with a special setting “read only”), but prohibits the save of any changes. Only authorized users can save changes. But do not forget that opening the document in “read only” and copy its contents into a new document via the clipboard you will get an unprotected copy of the document. This password is set in the same manner and in the same box as the password to open the document.
