This is “not” a NEW King James Version Bible. The NKJV removes 2,289 words from the KJV and demotes Jesus Christ. The American King James Version is a word for word update of the KJV. The only changes are words like whosoever to whoever, believeth to believes, thou to you, shewing to showing, maketh to makes, shall stays the same, yea to yes, restoreth to restores, thy to your, thyself to yourself and so on. There are no doctrinal changes. All of the Bible translations (except KJV) have serious errors and some serious omissions. The reason people don’t like to read the KJV is because of the Old English language. However, I don’t think we should change the truth of God into a lie. The words of the Bible are very import ant when we enter into spiritual warfare. Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God.
actually the kjv is fairly inaccurate because we have found more documents from that era that make translating more accurate. I think the best word for word Bible translation which is what kjv is) is the esv. The Bible wasn’t written in old english, so you can’t say that is the most accurate. If you base it off that then you should read the Bible only in Hebrew, Arabic, and Greek. Other Bible translations (such as thought for thought like NIV and paraphrases like the message) cannot be compared with kjv because their purpose in the translation was different. word for word were translated for the purpose of study. thought for thought for conveying the purpose of the passage. paraphrase for readability. there is nothing wrong with using all three, it is actually very helpful, but I tend to think it is better to use word for word for preaching, but thought for thought are ok too. Americans are lucky to have a Bible period, regarless of translation. Just be glad you live in a country where you won’t be killed for having a Bible in your hands and you can choose what translation you want. Many countries only have one translation in their language or have to use an english translation that they barely understand because they don’t speak english. I would much rather preach from the message to people that don’t speak english than the kjv because if I had to preach from kjv I would be there forever explaining what every word meant.
